‘Fake Tango” takes on an interesting character of its own as it develops through some time signature changes, making it a great rhythm study. With several four-note chords, occasional left hand chromatics, and sudden leaps, it calls for an advanced player and an “open minded” ear who can deliver this unusual, eccentric, but playful piece. You can love or hate its not so subtle humor. Lots of theory to discuss here.
